Research Experience

Graduate Research Assistant, MSMB Lab

University of Texas at San Antonio

Jun 2025 – Present

  • Performing image processing for trabecular bone analysis using ImageJ and microstructural decomposition with ITS software.
  • Developing an R package for probabilistic analysis of bone microarchitecture.
  • Analyzing effects of age, sex, and location on bone integrity as biomarkers for fragility assessment.

Undergraduate Researcher, Choe Lab

University of Rochester Medical Center

Jan 2024 – May 2025

  • Contributed to the development of an integrated Diffuse Optical and Ultrasound Imaging System.
  • Developed tissue-mimicking phantoms to simulate breast tissue properties.
  • Performed data analysis in MATLAB and Python for Diffuse Correlation Spectroscopy (DCS) data.

Key Projects

Senior Design Project: Blinking Eye Model

Developed a blinking eye model with a tissue-mimicking hydrogel and controllable blinking mechanism for preclinical testing of contact lenses for Bausch + Lomb.

Quantitative Analysis of Sexual Dimorphism in Human Mandibles

Analyzed CT data in MATLAB to quantify sexual dimorphism, finding significant differences in 3D mandibular length between males and females (p = 0.0034548).
